Cub Scouts is adventure, family, fun, character, community, self-control and so much more.
Being a Cub Scout puts a boy on a path to being a good citizen and his best self. Working through a series of fun, active “Adventures” that promote character, citizenship and outdoor skills, boys learn valuable skills while learning what it means to live by the Cub Scout motto:
Do your best!

Covid Update
Given the safety concerns brought about by Covid-19, the 2020/21 Pack 9 program will be outdoors-only, with activities scheduled primarily on weekends. Pack 9’s Covid-sensitive outdoor programs are perfect for boys and their families seeking a safe outdoor environment structured to minimize contact and allowing parents hands-on control over their boys’ participation and contact with others.
Cub Scouts are separated by grade level into “dens” and led by two or three parent den leaders. All parents are required to attend den events to ensure safety of the boys and their siblings. Activities such a hikes, bike trips, outdoor projects and site visits are scheduled by den leaders approximately once every three weeks. Masks are required by all participants and activities will be structured in an effort to ensure the boys do not come in close contact for extended periods of time.
There will be Pack-wide events, too, beginning with the annual model rocket launch in mid-November. Looking ahead to 2021, plans are underway for an outdoor Pinewood Derby, outdoor Blue & Gold Banquet, and of course, making maple syrup.
A successful den is a group of parents, boys and siblings that’s evolved over time into a challenging and supportive community that emphasizes the 12 Scout values; i.e. a Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave clean and reverent.
