Pack 9 held their annual Pinewood Derby last weekend at Luther Burbank School. The boys raced five ounce wooden cars they made over the holidays down a 44’ elevated track. The top 6 finishers received trophies and several other boys earned category awards like “Most Creative” and “Most Realistic” (winners to be announced soon!).
There were 34 cars in the first race with each car one racing in four different heats to determine the top 10 fastest. Those cars raced against one another to determine the top 6 qualifiers for the Council-wide Pinewood Derby to be held here in Lancaster in the spring.
Following the Cub Scout race, brothers and sisters got to compete in the “Sibling Race” and finally, a handful of 30-something “kids” closed out the fun with an “Adult Race!”
