The Tiger Den will be cider pressing Saturday afternoon October 6th from 1:00 to approximately 4:30. The whole family is invited to take part. We will start by picking our apples up off the ground and end by drinking apple cider! The process could not be any simpler!
The boys should wear play clothes and waterproof shoes or boots – cleaning the apples is wet and sometimes a bit dirty work. Uniforms are not required.
We begin by meeting on Runaway Brook Road, just before Meadowbrook Orchards where we pick the apples for about 30-40 minutes. Once we have enough apples, we will go to Cubmaster Steve Tarver’s house where we’ll wash them, grind them up, then press the cider out.
Please bring an clean, empty jug – preferably not a milk jug. Every family takes away at least a half gallon.
