Our annual Pack 9 sleepover will take place at the Ecotarium in Worcester on Saturday evening February 2, 2019. The program is called “Science for Wizards.” It’s run by Ecotarium staff, begins at 7:00 pm (check-in is from 6:00) and goes until approximately 10:30 lights out. We sleep in a big room on the floor (bring your air mattress) and a light snack is provided (everyone should eat before coming).
Science for Wizards
- Learn about the scientific method and perform ‘magic’ through hands-on science experiments and demonstrations
- Attend a few of the following wizard classes: Astronomy, Care of the Magnificent Creatures, Charms, Herbology, Potions, and “Detention.”
- Robes, wands, and fanaticism for popular wizard books are not required!
The next morning we’ll have a Continental Breakfast and are welcome to remain at the Ecotarium until 10:00. Each attendee also receives a free pass for a return visit that’s good for up to a year.
At least one parent must attend with their Scout and siblings are invited to attend as well. The cost is $55 per person, with Scouts discounted $15 paid from last year’s maple syrup earnings. For example, the cost for a single Cub Scout, his sister and one of his parents to attend would be $150.
Deadline to register and pay is Thursday evening January 3rd.
