It was a chilly, wet day on Saturday, but several of the first, second and third graders, along with their moms and dads braved the elements to get in a morning hike up Mount Wachusett. The boys were led by Bob Lidstone, a Lancaster native and local hiking enthusiast, who pointed out different trees found on the Balanced Rock and Old Indian Trails that led to the summit. After a quick lunch on the top, the boys headed down as the weather cleared and the Wachusett Apple Fest picked up steam at the bottom of the mountain.
