Pack 9 Fall Foliage Hike

The 2023 Fall Foliage Hike up Mount Wachusett!

Pack 9 will be returning to the summit of Mount Wachusett for the first time since 2018! With 360 degree views from the highest point in Massachusetts east of the Connecticut River, this should be a spectacular early preview of the leaves as they begin to turn colors.

We will be hiking the Balanced Rock Trail to the summit of Mount Wachusett. This is a well-worn trail with lots of nature to observe and appreciate. The whole family is invited to attend!

We will meet at 10:30AM in the parking lot of the Mount Wachusett Ski Area. Proceed down the main dirt road until you come to Parking Lane #8. Turn right (away from the exit) and there will be a sign in the woods at the end of the parking area.

The hike up should take a little over an hour and we will eat lunch at the top. The last group should be back at the cars no later than 2:30pm. The Pack will hike up as a group and eat lunch as a group. Some families may wish to wrap up and head back right away; we do not necessarily all leave as a group or hike back as a single group.
